OVERVIEW The existing landscape for this Two Rivers residence had an entry walk that went from the front door to the driveway -- This meant when any guests arrived at the house, they would have to walk up the driveway (and stare at the garage doors), then make a sharp turn against the residence then squeeze to the front door. This did not have great curb appeal and the entry way was far from welcoming. The back yard had spectacular views of the manmade "lake" and waterfalls, but was wide open to the neighbors on both sides. The main goals for the clients were: • Add a sitting area by the front and make the entry more welcoming • Screen the neighbors on both side, but keep the views to the "lake" open • Expand the existing patio • Add fire element • Add water element • Add garden area • Create separate rooms CONCEPT PLAN "A" In this first concept a new entry walk leads from the front door to the street. A small entry patio is located by the front door, a great spot to enjoy a morning coffee. A small disappearing waterfall adds interest and the sound of water to the front yard. Stone walls (to match the residence) and lush plantings finish off the front yard. A flagstone path acts as the main entry from the side yard to the back yard. A new larger brick paver patio has room for a freestanding grill, dining table and lots of annual color pots. 18"-24" tall landscape walls (to match residence) with lush screen plantings add privacy from the neighbors on either side.
