Entry from: Bogotá, Colombia Entry Title: "VINO CALIENTE" Entry: "Bueno, entonces ya estoy aqui en Bogota y que suerte que no estoy en el aeropuerto! Ok, now for english. Arrived yesterday to find Emily's bag at baggage claim before mine, only to realize an hour later that she missed her flight and I had 24 hours to wait for her. First idea was to take out money and get to the place I would stay, but luckily I was unable to do so, was offered coffee instead by the bank clerks, and spent the next 24 hours inside the airport without money for food or water. Passed my time asking a stranger to use his computer, watching spanish Discovery channel make football helmets, tea pots and baseball bats, reading Slaughter House 5 (finally) and sleeping on the floor while many stared my way. Not only could I not take out money but I only had a Luna bar, a bag of pretzels from Spirit airlines, and cookies to eat. I did meet two lovely older men (tends to be my forte) both of which live in Colombia, one with his family, the other with his girlfriend and we discussed God, technology, travels, Americans vs. everyone else, and dancing. After 24 hours I had friends in all places over the airport. Finally, Em arrived, we took a taxi to where we are now couchsurfing, and witnessed a dog with her period for the first time ...
